ADEKA Corporation proudly announces that its environmentally friendly polymer additive “ADK CYCLOAID FP-600I,” developed by ADEKA, has been adopted for select models of Sony Corporation’s BRAVIA 9 II RGB TVs, *1 announced on May 27, 2026.
ADK CYCLOAID FP-600I is an environmentally friendly oligomeric phosphate flame retardant that incorporates biomass-derived raw materials with a mass balance approach (2). Importantly, these biomass-based raw materials are realized at manufacturing sites certified under ISCC Plus (3). The product is used in a global supply chain for renewable plastics, jointly established by a total of 14 companies including Sony, Mitsubishi Corporation and ADEKA, across five countries and regions. ADEKA will globally promote “ADK CYCLOAID FP-600I” as a flame retardant that combines functionality with environmental performance, aiming to enhance social value in the electronics field, including housings for laptops, office appliances, and other electronic devices.
ADK CYCLOAID FP-600I is the latest addition to the line up of ADEKA’s “ADK CYCLOAID” series which are all products designed and developed for recycling. With ADK CYCLOAID FP-600I, ADEKA will continue to contribute to plastic resource circularity together with stakeholders across the entire supply chain.
(1) Renewable plastics are incorporated into certain internal components of all BRAVIA 9 II, excluding the 115-inch model. In addition, it is also used on the rear cover of the 65-inch model.
(2) A method that allows customers to select the use of biomass-derived raw materials by allocating the certified proportion of biomass feedstock to the final product using an approved methodology.
(3) ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) is an international sustainability and carbon certification system. This product is certified at ADEKA Group’s manufacturing site, ADEKA FINE CHEMICAL (CHANGSHU) CO., LTD.
